Missoula Nurse Practitioner Tandra Schmid

Tandra Schmid, NP

Primary Care Provider
Background & Experience My motivation to work in healthcare started while caring for my grandmother who had a stroke in her mid-90s causing her to be more dependent on others, unable to drive or live in her own home. I was driven to a second career path in nursing and received my RN and master’s degree from the University of Washington. I have provided care to adult patients in rural and urban settings in Washington & Oregon for over 14 years. My husband and I met while living in Missoula during the early 2000s and are excited to be back in the area. The smaller community appeals to me and being able to take time during visits and events while getting to know and support patient well-being in the ways they prefer is important to me. I feel fortunate to have found a wonderful team at Greater Good Health who share my values of having clear intentions of practicing inclusion. We make sure to hear and value individuals and their autonomy, and we believe health is all-encompassing, affecting us physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Interests When not in the clinic you will usually me at my most “in-tents” in the wild with my 2 dogs and husband. I enjoy most activities that allow me to be outdoors. Fun Fact I enjoy meeting new people and gathering people to participate in outdoor activities. I’m excited to try fly fishing!
