Vanessa Lucena
Medical Assistant
Background & Experience
I was born in Venezuela and grew up between Venezuela and Spain before going to college. I did my Bachelor of Science in Cytotechnology and worked in a lab in Panama for two years before moving to Missoula, Montana in 2019 to pursue further study. When COVID struck, I made the decision to launch a new career because I saw a national lack of RNs and MAs. I recently received my Medical Reception Certificate and Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting from the University of Montana. Over the years I have worked primarily in primary care and that made me realize that the elderly are the ones who need our help the most. Being a medical assistant for seniors is not just about administering treatments or performing tasks; it is about providing comfort, support, and companionship to those who need it most, and Greater Good Health has stepped in to be the help that population in Montana needed.
Interests
I love to travel; I can say that every weekend I try not to be in Missoula and enjoy what other cities and states have to offer. I have visited about 30 national parks and try to go to a new country at least once a year. I like climbing, skiing, hiking, going to the beach in the summer, and camping with my friends. I also love going to concerts and events.
Fun Fact
I speak three languages, and sometimes when I am in a conversation I forget how to speak and think in all three languages.
